Someone on the OU A215 forum posted a link to www.wordle.net.  It’s a website that generates word clouds based on text you provide it.  The more times a word is used, the bigger the word will be.  You can either paste in content yourself, or give it an url and it will generate it for you.  The clouds can be customised with different fonts, layouts, and colour schemes.

This is what I got when I gave it the URL of this blog.

Pretty, isn’t it?

  1. This is so cool. I love it. My son is making a poetry anthology for his English homework and I’ve just suggested he does one of these for the cover. He is impressed – ‘It’s well good’ 😉 I must remember to thank whoever posted the original link, when I can get FirstClass to work properly again

  2. That looks fantastic – i’m going to give it a go next week when i’ve written a bit more. I’m sure there is a subliminal message in yours telling me to learn poetry. Ha Ha!
